The San Francisco Giants started their nine game homestand with a thud last night against the San Diego Padres, but turn to ace Tim Lincecum to even the series while he continues to right the ship from his rough start of 2012.
Lincecum (1-2 8.20 ERA) finally earned his first victory of the season in his last time out on Monday in New York, fanning eight while walking five in just five innings of the work, allowing just four hits and one run along the way. Only one of his four starts thus far have come at AT&T, looking to continue his improvement from his horrendous start to the season.
Anthony Bass )1-2 2.33 ERA) is set for another start, being forced into the Giants rotation after Tim Stauffer and dustin Mosely went down with injuries. He earned his his first win of the season against the Phillies in his last outing, pitching six innings of one run ball, striking out seven.
Pablo Sandoval extended his league-leading hit streak to 20 straight to start the season, while San Diego's Chase Headley has registered a hit in 16 of his last 18 contests.
First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. PT with coverage on NBC Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM in and around the Bay, while Fox Sports San Diego and XPRS 1090 AM while have coverage in San Diego.
