Giants Vs. Padres, Starting Lineup: Buster Posey Back At 1B, Joaquin Arias Gets Another Start

The San Francisco Giants are glad to be home, taking on the San Diego Padres Friday night at AT&T Park.

Joaquin Arias has earned himself another start in the Giants lineup this evening, letting Brandon Crawford take another day off. He's certainly going to be hard to pull back down to the minors once Aubrey Huff comes back if he can be productive at the plate with his clutch glove in the infield.

Buster Posey will get another start at first base, Ryan Theriot will be back at second base, while Hector Sanchez will catch the call-up Hacker this evening.

Fun facts: Eric Hacker is also a switch hitter, meaning the Giants have five of them in the lineup tonight, for the fifth time this season. The Giants have also won 11 of their last 14 against the Padres dating back to last season, though 27 of 36 games have been decided by three runs or fewer.

Your San Francisco Giants:

  1. Angel Pagan CF
  2. Melky Cabrera RF
  3. Pablo Sandoval 3B
  4. Buster Posey 1B
  5. Brett Pill LF
  6. Joaquin Arias SS
  7. Hector Sanchez C
  8. Ryan Theriot 2B
  9. Eric Hacker P

First pitch is set for 7:15 pm PT this evening with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM. Fox Sports San Diego and XPRS 1090 AM will have cove in San Diego.
