The San Francisco Giants have lost seven straight at the Great American Ballpark after their soggy 4-2 loss Tuesday night to the Cincinnati Reds, but look to avoid being swept with Ryan Vogelsong on the bump to get the job done.
Vogelsong (0-1, 3.38) is yet to earn himself a win despite two quality starts on the season, though he hasn't faired incredibly well against Cincy in his career. In seven start against them he owns a modest 2-3 record in 5.40 ERA in 13 games, six of them as a starter. Brandon Phillips certainly has his number as well, who is now 5-9 lifetime against him.
The Reds will send out Homer Bailey (1-2, 3.86), who got his first win of the season in his last time out against the Cubs. He held them to four runs, one earned in seven innings of work. He'll have to deal with containing Pablo Sandoval, who has now it safely in 18 straight to start the season.
First pitch is set for 9:35 a.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM in and around the Bay Area, while WLW 700 will have the coverage out in Ohio.
