Giants Vs. Mets: Barry Zito, Jon Niese Take The Mound, Angel Pagan Returns To New York

The San Francisco Giants have clawed their way back to .500 this season after Matt Cain and Cliff Lee duked it out in an pitching duel of epic proportions, giving the G-Men confidence heading out for their week long road trip. San Francisco will turn to one of their most confident players at the moment in Barry Zito to take the mound Friday, taking on fellow lefty Jon Niese at Citi Field.

Zito (1-0 1.13 ERA) Zito is looking to keep the good times rolling in 2012, out for his second win of the season after two quality starts including his improbably shutout at Coors Field. He hasn't pitched at least seven innings in three straight starts since he did in four straight April 18-May 5, 2010. He's 3-2 with a 3.31 ERA in six career starts versus New York. As for Niese (2-0 2.13 ERA), he lasted 6.2 inning in his last start, striking out five and walking one against Atlanta.

Angel Pagan will be making his return to Ctii Field after playing 393 career games with the Amazin's, after being part of the trade for Andres Torres back in December. Torres unfortunately in on the DL, and won't be playing this series.

The Mets' David Wright is looking to make some history tonight as well as he sits one RBI shy of tying Darryl Strawberry for the all-time lead in Mets history, something else to keep an eye on tonight.

First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM around the Bay, and the SNY network and WFAN 660 AM in New York.
