Giants Vs. Phillies, MLB Preview: Madison Bumgarner Squares Off Against Joe Blanton

Another poor start from Tim Lincecum lead to a sour finish on Monday night at AT&T, but after the good news of Madison Bumgarner's extension the San Francisco Giants are looking for their big left-hander to turn the tides on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Bumgarner signed a 5-year, $35 million contract with the Black and Orange before the game Monday, looking for his second win of the season after his 7.1 innings of work against the Rockies out in Denver last time out. The 22-year old gave up only one run on four hits along two walks two punchouts, hopefully backing it up with another gem at AT&T Park after his big payday.

Joe Blanton will take the hill for Philly, who is also feeling confident heading into the matchup. He gave up a single run on only three hits and a walk in seven innings of work against the new look Marlins his last time out, making the most of it after an injury-plagued 2011.

Pat Burrell will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch of Tuesday's game against Philadelphia, his other former team that he will retire as part of.

First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m. PT with coverage at CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM in and around the Bay, and TCN and 1210 WPHT in the Philadelphia area. This game can be seen on the MLB Network as well.
