Madison Bumgarner Contract Extension Details

For those who want more details about what's going on with the new Madison Bumgarner contract, here are some details courtesy of Buster Olney of ESPN.

Bumgarner is a candidate to be a Super-2, meaning Bumgarner has at least two years of major league service but less than three, AND is among the top 17 percent for cumulative playing time in the majors in this class of players, AND was on an active major-league roster for at least 86 days in the previous season.

If he does become Super-2 arbitration eligible, Bumgarner would earn salaries of $3 million, $5.5 million, $7 million, $10 million and $12 million from 2013 to 2017. If he doesn't, the salaries are $750K, $3.75 million

In either case, MadBum gets a $1 million signing bonus and $1.5 million option buyout. He also has a limited no-trade clause, which means there are eight teams he cannot be traded to.
