Ryan Vogelsong Injury: Giants Starter Ready For April 15 Return

After making his second start of the season for the Fresno Grizzlies on Wednesday night, San Francisco Giants pitcher Ryan Vogelsong has shown that he is more than ready to return from an early spring back injury that kept him out of the first half of camp.

Vogelsong allowed two earned runs on six hits in six innings pitched on Tuesday night in Las Vegas against the 51's. He walked only one and struck out six after taking a no-hitter into the third inning. He threw 83 pitches in total, had non setbacks or recurrence or injury, and should be set to make his debut with the Black and Orange on April 15 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The scheduled off day on Tuesday ensured that the Giants wouldn't need a replaced 5th starter while Vogelsong rehabbed in Fresno, but also gives a little piece of mind to the team and it's fans knowing that your All-Star 5th starter is healthy and ready to go. I'm sure Giants fans will be happy to have him back come Sunday at AT&T Park.
