For the second straight night at AT&T Park the San Francisco Giants put eight runs on the board, but weren't out to play small ball against the San Diego Padres. The Black and Orange launched three shots into the night sky, lifting rookie Eric Surkamp for his second straight victory over the Pads by a score of 8-3.
Carlos Beltran started the show off with a two run bomb in the first, his 18th of the year. Cody Ross would counter with a shot of his own in the third, finishing the night 3-4 with a walk and two RBI, while Pablo Sandoval would add his team leading 19th dinger in the seventh just for good measure. Aubrey Huff would contribute as well, slapping an RBI single in the third as well.
As for Surkamp (W 2-0), he can credit Bud Black's squad for his first two wins of his career, lasting for five and 2/3 innings of three run ball, allowing seven hits while walking one along the way. As for Padres starter Aaron Harang (L 13-6) his night was over after the fifth, allowing four Giants runs on six hits with two walks and four punch outs.
