The San Francisco Giants are trying to get healthy, and have made some moves in the right direction as of late.
According to the San Jose Mercury News’ Andrew Baggarly, closer Brian Wilson played some light catch on Thursday, throwing for approximately for six total minutes, noting no pain or problems in his inflamed right elbow during his session. Skipper Bruce Bochy acknowledged that despite Wilson showing some signs of progress it is highly unlikely that he will come off the DL this Wednesday when he is eligible to return.
In more pitching injury news starter Barry Zito threw off of a mound at the Giants complex in Arizona on Thursday as well, working on rehabbing his injured right ankle that has caused him fits since the beginning of the season. Although he hasn’t been stellar, Zito is sorely needed as the Giants pitching staff simply needs healthy bodies as of now.
