The dog days of summer are only a few days away, that means the playoffs are drawing near. And even though the end of the season is still two plus months away, all teams across the league are getting ready to make their push, and all the games are must-win.
The Giants have won nine of their last 13 games, ensuring a four game lead over the second place Diamondbacks. Arizona and San Francisco have seemingly been at this distance for a long time now, but they have had almost and identical record since the All-Star break with Arizona's 8-5 record in their last 13. From there, the NL West gets pretty ugly as Colorado, L.A. and San Diego all are well below .500 and all but finished this season in terms of the playoffs. They might still be making some moves at the trade deadline, but that remains to be seen.
