The San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies meet for the first time since last year’s NLCS, and with both teams hanging on to first place in the respective divisions it’s a must win series anyway you look at it.
The Giants will send out TIm Lincecum (8-8) who is coming off a hard-luck loss against the Dodgers a few days ago where he allowed only one run in seven innings of work along with seven strikeouts and an uncharacteristic four walks. He’ll be in the hostile Citizen’s Bank Park this time, but can use his postseason success he had there to hopefully boost his confidence today.
As for the lineup the Giants will use basically the same group as they did on Sunday with Jeff Keppinger at second, Mike Fontenot at short, and Pablo Sandoval and Aubrey Huff at the corners. Torres, Schierholtz and Ross will make up the outfield, while Eli Whiteside will be behind the dish to catch Lincecum.
