The San Francisco Giants are on the verge of a sweep against their rival Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday afternoon, and have their ace on the mound in Tim Lincecum. But the Dodgers have their top dog out there as well, Clayton Kershaw, likely setting up a terrific pitcher’s duel at AT&T Park.
Third baseman Pablo Sandoval came out of the game early Tuesday night with tightness in his quad, so the team has left him out of the lineup today, moving Mike Fontenot over to third base. Aaron Rowand will start in left field, while Cody Ross will be in right and bat clean up to give Nate Schierholtz a day off. Brandon Belt and Emmanuel Burriss will cover the right half of the diamond, while Chris Stewart will be behind the plate to catch Timmy.
