Day Two of the 2011 MLB Draft is in the books, and the San Francisco Giants have themselves a slew on new talent. They managed to nab a nice mix of pitching as well as a few positional players, hoping they found themselves a diamond in the rough.
There is another possible 20 rounds of picks to be made by the G-Men on Wednesday, but they can decide whenever they'd like to stop making picks. We've broke down their third round pick as well as their fourth through sixth round picks, and now here is the entire compiled list of players drafted rounds 7-30. Out of these 23 players chosen 13 were right handed pitchers, as well as two left handed pitchers, leaving only eight picks for positional players. The rest of the Giants picks were three shortstops, three center fielders, and two third baseman; positions the Giants will need fresh talent.
The Giants currently have a number of homegrown talent on the big league squad, drafted everywhere from the first round to the 28th. Sergio Romo was drafted in the 28th round overall in 2005, while Jonathan Sanchez was drafted in the 27th round in 2004.
