Despite all the injuries, hitting woes, and tortuous games night after night the San Francisco Giants still find themselves in the thick of things in the NL West. Winners of their last two, the Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks have been flip-flopping between first and second place every few days it seems, and at this juncture San Francisco is just a smidge behind Arizona for first place.
The D'backs got get finsihed sweeping the Royals out in Kansas City, while the Giants took two of three from the Twinkies at AT&T. The Colorado Rockies have been playing well, but can't seem to get over that .500 hump, even after taking two games out in Cleveland against the Tribe. The Dodgers continue to struggle, going 4-6 in their last ten games and currently sit 8 games out of first place as the take on the cross-town Angels this weekend. Bringing up the rear once again are the San Diego Padres, 12 games under .500, 10 games out in the NL West and 3-7 over their last 10.
The Giants are once again a part of the Wild Card race, sitting 1.5 games back of the Atlanta Braves for first place. the Brewers are right behind them, only two games back, followed by the Reds and Nationals who are four and 4.5 games out respectively.
