2011 MLB All Star Voting Results: AL Ballot Results Includes No Oakland Athletics

In the least surprising result since last year, the Oakland Athletics will likely not have any offensive players included in the 2011 MLB All Star Game. MLB released the first edition of American League voting results and there are no A's to be found. The A's are likely going to end up getting a pitcher as their mandatory representative, with a possible chance for two pitchers if they can get back in gear soon.

As it currently stands, Jose Bautista leads all players in votes as he closes in on 1.3 million votes. While the Giants have gotten Freddy Sanchez and Pablo Sandoval at least into the discussion, the A's best bet at this point might be Kurt Suzuki. It's hard to tell where his vote total stands, but given some of the catchers in the American League, I could see him sneaking into the top five before all is said and done. Suzuki's numbers aren't fantastic, but his defensive prowess might score him some votes.
