After back-to-back high octane wins for the San Francisco Giants the team will be looking for their first series sweep of the season against the NL West leading Colorado Rockies this afternoon at AT&T Park. Many a Bay Area Mother will be hoping for a Mother's Day present from the Black and Orange today, and will turn to Ryan Vogelsong to get the job done.
Vogelsong (1-0 4.40 ERA) will have the task of trying to slow down Jorge De La Rosa (4-0 2.92 ERA) and his great start to the 2011 season. He kept the Giants in check in his last outing against them on April 20, going for 7 full innings allowing only 2 runs on 4 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Minor league call up Vogelsong has done well in his time in Barry Zito's DL absence, and can hopefully get his second win of the season this afternoon.
