The San Francisco Giants are on their last stop of their elongated road trip, and trying to head back to the bay with a series sweep under the belt. The New York Mets aren’t going to give in to the Giants demands, but Jonathan Sanchez will do whatever he can to make the sweep a reality.
Sanchez (2-1 2.73 ERA) is set to take on the Mets Mike Pelfrey (1-3 7.39 ERA) this morning, hoping that the Giants can muster enough runs to get the Sanchize a win. San Francisco currently leads the majors with the most games decided by three runs or less with 24, so needless to say they need to get hot this afternoon; especially since the G-Men have lost 8 of the last 13 games.
The Giants haven’t swept the Mets in New York since May 7-9 2002, but currently have won 6 of the last 7 meetings with New York, outscoring them 29-19 in that span.
First pitch is set for 10:10 PT this morning and can be found on CSN Bay Area, MLB Network, and KNBR 680 AM.
