San Francisco Giants Injury Update: Brandon Belt Wrist X-Rays Negative

In today's matchup between the San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals, rookie first baseman Brandon Belt went up to bat against Trever Miller. Miller proceeded to do what baseball pitchers tend to do from time to time--throw the ball awry and away from the strike zone. Belt proceeded to take a hit right on the left wrist and took first base, but would head to the clubhouse in the ninth when the swelling became too difficult for him to deal with. Emmanuel Burris had to come in to pinch-hit, and he proceeded to swing down

The X-rays show nothing damaging, meaning Belt should be ok, but it does become another casualty of the huge injury bug for the Giants to deal with. Are injuries really contagious? It's just your average day for the 2011 Giants.
