After their rather bland an uninspiring trip to Milwaukee the San Francisco Giants are looking for a fresh start and happy end to their seven game road trip with the first of a four game set today against the St. Louis Cardinals. Both teams have had their fair share of offensive and injury related struggles this year, yet both manage to keep a rather high level of play despite their shortcomings.
Madison Bumgarner (1-6 3.79 ERA) has been stringing together quality start after quality start but still can’t seem to get any more wins under his belt. The offense will hopefully help him out today as they face Kyle McClellan (6-1 3.11 ERA) who’s had about the exact opposite start to the year that Bummy has had.
The Giants team batting average of .240 is fourth lowest in the NL and have the fewest runs scored in the entire league at 177, but can heat up in a hurry, which they hopefully do this afternoon.
First pitch is set for 1:15 PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
