As the San Francisco Giants find themselves in another one of their seemingly patented slumps, they luckily came to Citi Field at a time the New York Mets are struggling as well. Neither team has plated more than 3 runs in any of their last four games, nor have they won more than once. But one of these teams has to win today, and the Giants are turning to Ryan Vogelsong to get it done.
Vogelsong (1-0 1.74 ERA) is looking for his second win as a Giant in as many appearances this season, but will be up against knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (1-3 3.82 ERA) who will be trying to get his team back on track.
The Giants offense is the main reason why the team has been struggling, most notably Aubrey Huff. His .190 batting average is nothing to brag about, but his .441 average in his last nine games against the Mets is. Although he is only 1-6 lifetime against R.A. Dickey, so it’s tough to say he’ll have a breakout day today; but you can always hope.
First pitch is schedule for 4:10 PT this afternoon and can be found on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
