San Francisco Giants fans everywhere are having a day of remorse with the news of Buster Posey’s injury. But the show must fo on as they say, and the Florida Marlins have the Giants right where they want them, on the verge of being swept at AT&T Park.
There’s no doubt that the Giants’ loss of the reigning rookie of the year puts things in a different perspective and could have a significant impact on their success this season, but for this afternoon, all they can do is focus on getting a win for their fallen comrade.
Ryan Vogelsong (3-0 1.93 ERA) will look to keep the Marlins bats in check, while Anibal Sanchez (3-1 3.02 ERA) will look to keep his nice start in 2011 going. The Marlins are trying to be the second team to sweep the Giants at home along with the Braves, despite the G-Men’s 13-7 record at home so far this year.
