Giants vs. Athletics, Bay Bridge Series Starting Lineups: Nate Schierholtz Stays in Right, Batting Fifth

After saving last night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a spectacular sliding catch, Nate Schierholtz will get his second start in a row in right field tonight against the Oakland A’s. With Nate in right and Cody Ross in left, that leaves veterans Pat Burrell and Aaron Rowand on the bench. Nate brings a lot of value with his glove, athleticism, and left handed at bats to a club that desperately needs al three, and skipper Bruce Bochy is going with the hot hands as of late. There’s none hotter after that catch by Schierholtz last night.

This will be the first time Boch uses the same lineup in back-to-back games in a while, maybe all season.

Your San Francisco Giants:

1. Andres Torres CF
2. Freddy Sanchez 2B
3. Aubrey Huff 1B
4. Buster Posey C
5. Nate Schierholtz RF
6. Cody Ross LF
7. Mike Fontenot SS
8. Miguel Tejada 3B
9. Ryan Vogelsong P

First pitch is set for 7:15 PT this evening. Coverage can be found on NBC Bay Area and CSN California on the tube and KNBR 680 AM and Sports Radio 95.7 FM on the radio dial.
