With the injury to San Francisco Giants third baseman Mark DeRosa’s left wrist placing him on the DL once again, Skipper Bruce Bochy has seemingly run out of options with his infield lineup. So today the team recalled Emmanuel Burriss from AAA Fresno for some extra help on the left side on the infield.
But now the good news, the Giants are back in first place after the Rockies fell 2-1 to the Phillies last night, and are now half a game behind the Giants atop the NL West.
Nate Schierholtz will get the start in right field, moving Cody Ross over to left. Andres Torres will be in his normal center field position and leading off after getting a day off yesterday, while Miguel Tejada will be back and third due to Mark DeRosa, putting Mike Fontenot at shortstop.
