Giants vs. Rockies, Schedule Preview: Tim Lincecum Out to Continue Dominance of Rockies

After bringing a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the Colorado Rockies last weekend, the San Francisco Giants’ TIm Lincecum will look to continue his brilliance against the Rocks this afternoon at Coors Field in Denver. The Giants have been one of the hottest teams in baseball as of late, and now will begin their battle for the NL West this evening against some of the most dangerous hitters in all of baseball.

Lincecum (3-3 2.11 ERA) currently hold a 17 inning scoreless streak on Colorado in his last couple of outings, despite the presence of guys like Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez in the lineup. Tulo is batting .280 over his last 7 games including 2 homers and 6 RBI in just 25 at bats.

Opposing the Freak will be the youngster Clayton Mortensen (0-0 0.55 ERA) for the Rocks, making only his second start of the season.

First pitch is set for 5:40 PT this afternoon with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
