2011 MLB Standings Update: Giants Assume First Place in NL West With Win Streak

The San Francisco Giants are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, and because of that, have taken over first place in the NL West over the Colorado Rockies. Their recent 6-0 homestand has vaulted them past the Rocks who have struggled with rain delays and some poor performances from their starters as of late losers of their last 2 games. at 21-16 they sit one game head of Colorado, 3.5 games ahead of the Dodgers at 18-20, and 5.5 and 6 games ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres respectfully. As for the Wild Card, well, the Giants aren’t in that race as division leaders. But just as sort of a measuring stick, the Giants have a very similar record to the Florida Marlins who are leading at 21-15 in the NL Wild Card.
