Tonight’s ring ceremony will be the second installment of the San Francisco Giants’ home opening festivities, but will conclude with a serious pitching matchup against the St. Louis Cardnials with Matt Cain (1-0) taking on Jaime Garcia (1-0). The Giants starting pitchers have not allowed more than 3 earned runs in any of their starts, and Cain will be looking to extend that streak.
Skipper Bruce Bochy has made some significant lineup changes for tonight’s game, most notably giving rookie Brandon Belt the night off and moving Aubrey Huff back to his normal position at first base. Aaron Rowand gets the start in right field, while Mark DeRosa will play third base giving Pablo Sandoval the night off.
