Giants vs. Padres, MLB Schedule Preview: Madison Bumgarner, Aaron Harang Set to Start Their Seasons at Petco Park

Before the San Francisco Giants can head back to the Bay to begin their World Series/Rookie of the Year festivities, they have to make a pit stop in San Diego first to face the Padres at Petco Park. The two day series will be kicked off by the Giants young gunslinger Madison Bumgarner and the Padres hometown boy Aaron Harang on the mound for their season debuts. The Friars home opener should be a doozy with the defending champs in town, especially when they're hungry for some wins.

The Giants trailed the Padres for almost the entire season last year in the NL West, and struggled mightily against them, posting a 6-12 record against San Diego including a sweep at Petco last April. The Giants 1-3 start wasn't exactly pretty, but hopefully they will gain some confidence and momentum under the San Diego sunshine.

First pitch is scheduled for 3:35 this afternoon and can be seen on CSN Bay Area, and heard on KNBR 680 AM, so make sure to set your DVR or turn on the radio at your desk to catch all the action.
