Giants vs. Nationals, MLB Scores: Jason Marquis Out Duels Tim Lincecum, Giants Fall 3-0

As the San Francisco Giants came into the Nation’s Capitol, they were looking to start a winning streak for themselves. But by the end of the day, all they could do is scratch their heads and wonder where the offense is. The Washington Nationals Jason Marquis pitched a complete game shutout, out dueling Tim Lincecum for a final score of 3-0 at Nationals Park.

Lincecum (L 2-3) had a great outing for the G-Men, lasting 7 innings allowing 7 hits, 3 earned runs, no walks, and 7 strikeouts. Marquis (W 3-0) on the other hand went the distance allowing 5 hits, no runs, no walks, and 7 strikeouts. Timmy threw 111 pitches in his 7 innings of work, while Marquis only used 96 bullets to take down San Francisco.

Laynce Nix blasted a two run homer in the second for the Nats, followed by Jason Marquis helping himself out with a hit and run RBI single in the fifth. As for the Giants, Aaron Rowand was 2-4 with two singles while Freddy Sanchez was 1-3 with a double.
