Giants vs. Pirates, MLB Schedule Preview: Giants Look to Keep It Rolling at PNC Park

After the San Francisco Giants rallied to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday to stop their 4 game losing streak, there’s really isn’t much to do but keep the good times rolling. They’ll have their opportunity today as they square off with the Pirates for the second of their three game set at PNC Park.

Madison Bumgarner (0-3 7.79 ERA) is looking to right the ship that is his season as he faces the Pirates’ James McDonald (0-2 10.13 ERA), looking to do the same. Bummy has a 10/9 BB to K ratio is his 17.1 innings of work in his 4 starts so far, and has been showing his ornery side out there early in the game, getting exasperated at the calls he’s getting. Hopefully he can settle down and get the Giants rolling again this afternoon.

The Giants offense is also looking to actually make an appearance today as well after all their runs yesterday came on sacrifice hits and errors. The G-Men’s .242 batting average is currently ranked 20th in the MLB, and will need to improve, especially on this road trip.

First pitch is set for 4:05 PT and can be seen on CSN Bay Area and heard on KNBR 680 AM.
