Giants vs. Rockies MLB Series Recap: San Francisco Makes Early Statement Against NL West Leading Colorado

In frustrating, but seemingly tradition-fulfilling San Francisco Giants fashion, they avoided winning yet another game three, which would have been the icing on the cake after two very strong, dominating outings in the first two games of the series. The 10-2 loss on Wednesday doesn't invalidate the first two wins or anything of that nature, especially because the Giants won so handily in the other two games, outings that were 6-3 and 8-1 wins, respectively. Still, dropping two possible sweeps in subsequent series' is always disheartening.

Giants Pitcher of the Series: Tim Lincecum - He had a no-hitter going through most of game one, and finished with 7.2 innings pitched, giving up three hits and one run with three walks while striking out an impressive ten batters. Lincecum is on so far, and that's a good sign for the Giants.

Giants Hitter of the Series: Freddy Sanchez - Great this series, with a huge homerun, a couple of RBI and four hits. Freddy has been coming up big lately, and deserves this honor.

Stat of the Series: Esmil Rogers' outing in game one: he pitched three innings, gave up six hits and eight runs, walking two and only striking out three. He allowed three home runs. Absolutely brutal.

Upcoming Schedule: The Giants head back home to host the Atlanta Braves for a three-game set and then will be setting off for a 10-game road trip in series' against the Pirates, Nationals and Mets.
