Giants vs. Rockies, MLB Lineup Preview: Cody Ross Returns to Lineup For Final Game of Series

The San Francisco Giants are set to take on the Colorado Rockies for their third and final game of the series this afternoon with a familiar face making his return. Cody Ross, after spending a few weeks on the DL with a calf injury, will make his return to right field this afternoon as he makes his 2011 regular season debut. Cody has been out since late in Spring Training, and I’m sure he’s elated to be back on the field. According to Andrew Baggarly the Giants are still to make a decision on Brandon Belt’s future, but the writing is on the wall as a decision is to come down soon.

Ross will be put in the clean up spot in his first day on the job, a decision I’m not exactly thrilled with. Buster was bumped to third, Pablo was dropped to 8th, while Miguel Tejada was moved up to 6th. Boch knows best I guess. Aubrey Huff will get the day off as Mark DeRosa gets the start at first base.
