After the San Francisco Giants increased their lead in the fifth inning, they came right back in the sixth to extend their lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 8-0. The Giants used 8 batters in their half of the sixth, and used the small ball approach to get to their massive lead.
Brandon Belt started it off with a great at bat, drawing a walk. Belt then stole second base and later scored on a Mark DeRosa RBI double. Matt Cain then drew a walk followed by another RBI single for Tejada who’s now 2-3 with 3 RBI for the day. The inning continued with a Freddy Sanchez RBI single, followed by an Aubrey Huff 2 RBI single to finish off the huge offensive inning for the Giants.
Matt Cain continues to cruise with only 4 hits through five innings, as well as 2 strikeouts. The Dodgers have been making contact but have very little to show for it.
