Giants v. Dodgers Game Three Preview: Interesting Lineup Choice Puts Miguel Tejada in Leadoff Spot

Two games into their regular season schedule and the San Francisco Giants find themselves in a 0-2 hole to the Los Angeles Dodgers, and will hopefully begin to dig out of it today in Chavez Revine as Matt Cain takes on the Dodgers Ted Lilly in the third of their four game series this afternoon.

Skipper Bruce Bochy is already shaking up the lineup, making a very interesting choice with his leadoff hitter. Miguel Tejada was tabbed for only the fourth time in his career as the leadoff hitter, and hasn’t done so since July 28, 1999 when he was with still with the Oakland A’s. Maybe he’ll show some explosive base running abilities at 36 years of age.

And now, your San Francisco Giants:

  • SS Miguel Tejada
  • 2B Freddy Sanchez
  • RF Aubrey Huff
  • C Buster Posey
  • LF Pat Burrell
  • 1B Brandon Belt
  • 3B Mark DeRosa
  • CF Aaron Rowand
  • SP Matt Cain

Dodgers:

  • 3B Aaron Miles
  • 2B Ivan De Jesus
  • RF Andre Ethier
  • CF Matt Kemp
  • 1B James Loney
  • C Hector Gimenez
  • LF Xavier Paul
  • SS Jamie Carroll
  • SP Ted Lilly

Andres Torres and Pablo Sandoval with get some rest today, let’s see how DeRosa and Rowand fare in their first starts of the season.

Remember folks, first pitch is slated for 1:10 and will be televised on FOX and broadcast on KNBR 680 AM.
