Tim Lincecum Donates $25,000 to the Bryan Stow Fund

After the horrific attack of longtime Giants fan Bryan Stow during opening weekend at Dodgers Stadium, the outpouring of support has been great to see by fans all over the country, tugging at our collective heartstrings as baseball lovers; even Tim Lincecum. Timmy announced yesterday that he will donate $25,000 to the Bryan Stow fund that goes towards helping his family pay for Bryan's medical bills and other expenses.

Here's what Lincecum had to say about the situation:

"This was a senseless act of violence and I wanted to help out Mr. Stow and his family...It's also close to me because not only is Mr. Stow a Giants fan, but I have family and friends who are firefighters, police officers and paramedics and this honors their service to the community. I encourage Giants fans to support Mr. Stow in a positive way and hope there are not any more unfortunate acts between fans in this great rivalry."

Dodger stadium has completely revamped their security in Chavez Ravine because of this incident, hoping that it will keep things of this nature from happening again. I do too.

In all the Giants have raised over $ 70,000 so far with their partners, American Medical Response, including a $10,000 donation from the team (this number doesn't reflect Timmy's donation though). The culprits of the attack are still at large, and the reward for information toward their capture has now risen to $150,000.
