CSN Bay Area Announces Coverage Schedule of Giants Season Opener Thursday, March 31

As the San Francisco Giants begin their World Series title defense this upcoming Thursday, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area has announced their incredibly comprehensive, multiplatform coverage of their 2011 season opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers. CSN Bay Area will have live pre-game and postgame coverage as well as primetime news programming and a look back at the Giants' 2010 championship season. They will have 5 1/2 hours of Giants coverage this Thursday, March 31 for everyone to enjoy, so make sure you get your DVR ready or take the day off of work to get it all in. Here's what the television schedule will look like on Thursday on CSN Bay Area:

2:00-3:00 p.m: Inside the Clubhouse, town hall meeting: The second annual town hall meeting will consist of many of your favorite Giants players including Tim Lincecum, Brian Wilson, Buster Posey, Matt Cain, Andres Torres, Cody Ross, Pat Burrell and more as they reminisce about their experiences last year with season ticket holders. Hosted by Duane Kiper, Mike Krukow and Dave Flemming, it should prove to be an interesting experience to pick the brains of the players who won it all last year. 

3:00-4:00 p.m: Legends: 2010 San Francisco Giants: A replay of the one-hour documentary about the 2010 San Francisco Giants World Series championship season; from spring training, to the torture filled season to the ultimate elation of winning a title. 

4:00-5:00: SportsNet Central: Orange Opener, Live pre-game coverage: A comprehensive preview of the game before it's nationally televised on ESPN complete with exclusive pre-game interviews, feature stories on Giants players, and news and headlines around Major League Baseball.

5:00-8:00: CSNBayArea.com: Senior insider Ray Ratto and MLB insider Mychael Urban will have a live in-game chat, as well as online video and photos of the ballpark, and of course commentary and analysis of the Giants v. Dodgers. 

8:00-9:00 (approx.): Orange Opener, Live postgame coverage: Immediately following the game, the postgame show will be chalked full of highlights, analysis, player interviews, and a preview for the upcoming game. 

9:00-10:00: Chronicle Live: Host Greg Papa will have an interactive roundtable discussion about the Giants v. Dodgers, consisting of guests at Dodger stadium as well as coverage of other sporting news in the Bay Area.

10:00-10:30: SportsNet Central: The region's only live, locally focused sports news show, providing Northern California sports fans with all they need to know about their teams including breaking news, up to the minutes scores, and video highlights of the days events. 

Like I said before, get those DVR's ready people!
