The San Francisco Giants offense struggled for the fourth game in a row, falling to the Cleveland Indians 7-1 tonight, making it four straight Cactus League losses in a row for the defending world champions.
Barry Zito got the start for the Giants but struggled in 6 innings of work, allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits while striking out 5 and walking one. His replacement Ramon Ramirez didn’t do much better allowing 3 runs on 2 hits in only 1/3 inning of work.
As for the Giants offense, the lwone run came off of a Miguel Tejada home run in the 7th, the only extra base hit for the Giants tonight. The Giants were scoring runs with ease the last few weeks but have lost their touch as of late, a very bad sign as the regular season approaches.
The Giants will take on the Kansas City Royals tomorrow with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05. Coverage will only be provided by MLB.com, so stay with SB Nation Bay Area for complete Giants coverage.
