Giants v. Padres, 2011 Spring Training Scores: Giants Beat Padres 6-4 Behind Lincecum, Fontenot

Even though Spring Training games don’t matter, the San Francisco Giants will take every win over the San Diego Padres they can get. And under the lights at the Peoria Sports Comples the G-men came out victorious by a score of 6-4.

Tim Lincecum had a pretty good outing, going 4 full innings allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Timmy gave up his first home run of the preseason as the O-Dog Orlando Hudson in the third inning. As for the Giants favorite persona non grata Mat Latos, he went 4 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs, no walks, 2 stirkeouts, and the loss for the game. I guess Mat still hates SF.

Mike Fontenot hit his first homer in the Cactus League this year, smashing a 2 run bomb in the 5th. Aaron Rowand had a nice day going 2-2 from the plate, Brandon Belt went 2-4 with an RBI double, and Emmanuel Burriss went 1-3 with 2 RBI.

PANDA WATCH: Pablo had a bit of a rough game, going 1-4 from the plate with two strikeouts. He also had two errors at third base. No worries big fella, I’m still keeping the faith.

With the win it moves the Giants to 12-4, two games clear of the rest of the MLB this Spring Training. They’ll be back at Scottsdale Stadium tomorrow to take another NL West adversary in the Los Angeles Dodgers (split squad). First pitch is slated for 12:05 PT (1:05 MT) and can be seen on CSN Bay Area.
