After starting their Cactus League schedule looking very good, the San Francisco Giants suffered their first loss of their 2011 campaign. The GIants blew a three run lead in the bottom of the 8th inning their Spring Training games as they lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks for a 4-3 loss at the brand new Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale Arizona
With RBI singles by Ryan Rohinger and Emmanuel Burriss, and another Kung Fu Panda home run it was looking good for the G-Men headed into the bottom of the 8th. Then Casilla and Hinshaw gave up 4 earned runs in that inning eventually leading to a disappointing loss for the Giants (even though these games don’t matter).
Matt Cain had his first session in the Cactus League and went two scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one stirkeout.
San Francisco looks to continue their Cactus League success as they take on the Milwaukee Brewers with Barry Zito getting the start for the Giants as Shawn Marcum will get the start for the Brewers.
