The folks at Gentleman's Quarterly, better known as GQ, have put together a list of the 25 Coolest Athletes of All Time. The list includes guys like Joe Namath, Jim Brown, Allen Iverson, and Mario Andretti among others. They include one Bay Area athlete in the form of San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum. They question whether it's too soon but then point at that his three year run of two Cy Youngs and a World Series, along with his "peerless personal style" are enough to justify inclusion in the list.
↵However, GQ made a gross error in judgment when they elected to not include former 49ers QB Joe Montana. We're talking about a guy nicknamed Joe Cool. Maybe it was about his cool nature under pressure, but it seems reasonable to think he should have been included. Naturally the list includes Patriots QB Tom Brady given everything about his life. However, it seems reasonable to think that Montana should have been included on this list.
