San Francisco Giants Spring Training: First Full Team Workout, Sandoval's Weight Loss, & Wilson's Back Problems

The MLB regular season is just around the corner, and today marked the first full team workout for the San Francisco Giants this spring training. The team will have  six days of full team workouts before they play their first exhibition game February 25th against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Can't wait!

Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News reports that Giants' third baseman Pablo Sandoval lost 38 pounds during the offseason, reducing his body fat percentage from 30% to 19%.  Sandoval's trainer, Ethan Banning of Triple Threat Performance, estimated that his total fat loss was closer to 45 pounds with the added muscle that he put on. Thats a lot of weight to lose in just a bit over 3 months, very impressive. Looking good Panda, looking good.

In other news CSN Bay Area's Mychael Urban posted on twitter that Giants' star closer Brian Wilson missed workouts again on Saturday due to tightness in his back, making it four straight days he sat out. Wilson played some catch on Friday, but the team is in no hurry to get him back before he's 100% healthy.
