ESPN has released the early portion of their 2011 MLB television schedule and it features the San Francisco Giants twice. The Giants will open the ESPN broadcasting schedule on April 3 facing the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. The Giants will follow that up on July 10 when they face the New York Mets. According to the link above, the Giants and Dodgers are also apparently going to be on ESPN for an opening night showcase game March 31 at 5pm pacific.
At this point the Giants are the only team on the West Coast scheduled to appear on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball. After the July 17 game, future games will be schedule two to three weeks in advance based on pertinent matchups. This year's ESPN telecast features a new crew of announcers. Dan Shulman will replace Jon Miller in handling the play-by-play duties. Orel Hershiser and Bobby Valentine will replace Joe Morgan in handling color commentary.
