Nevada Uses Giants World Series Run To Sell Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl Game Tickets

The Nevada Wolfpack will make the relatively short trip to San Francisco on January 9, 2011 to face the Boston College Eagles in the 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl at AT&T Park. For Bay Area college football fans, it should be a highly entertaining game, particularly given the Wolfpack's intricate use of the Pistol offense. It was enough to take down the Boise State Broncos and should make for a fun post-New Years bowl game.

Apparently Nevada fans are excited about the game as they've reportedly sold almost half their allotment of 11,000 tickets to the game. What's interesting though is one angle for many Nevada fans planning on attending the game. There are a lot of Bay Area sports fans in and around Reno and accordingly, there are a lot of Giants fans out there. The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl is taking place at AT&T Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants. Many of these fans were not able to get out to the World Series or likely for many regular season home games.

This bowl game provides a unique opportunity to experience the Giants and AT&T Park. The playing field won't look like normal and some seats will be added in what is normally the outfield, but the structure of AT&T Park will remain the same. If I was the Nevada ticket marketing department, I'd be pushing that as much as anything else in order to sell more tickets.
