The folks over at our Braves blog, Talking Chop, put together a nice and concise post breaking down the various head-to-head statistics for Braves hitters versus Matt Cain and Giants hitters versus Tommy Hanson in 2010.
Naturally there isn’t much one can infer because the sample size is so small, but it’s still interesting to check out the numbers. If tonight holds up to season numbers, we should expect another 1-0 battle. The Giants are hitting .130 on the season against Hanson, while the Braves are hitting .191 against Cain. Pat Burrell is 2-for-2 with a walk in his three career plate appearances against Hanson, so maybe the Giants can count on him for a big hit?
