Giants-Phillies NLCS Game 6: Javier Lopez Continues Dominance Against Utley, Howard

Giants relief pitcher Javier Lopez continued his brilliance against the Phillies two big lefties, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard. The two lefties have faced Lopez in all six games of this 2010 NLCS and they are now a combined 1-for-12. Lopez retired the Phillies in order in the seventh to send this game into the eighth still tied at 2.

The Phillies are sending Ryan Madson back out to the mound in the eighth even though he threw 22 pitches last inning. One would imagine his inning might be short if he doesn’t make quick work of the Giants. He’ll face Pat Burrell, Cody Ross, and Juan Uribe.
