Roy Oswalt continued to handle Giants hitters, although he did give up two base hits in the second. Pat Burrell hit a slow roller to Jimmy Rollins’ right and Rollins couldn’t get ahold of the ball to make a play. However, Cody Ross followed that up with an easy 5-4-3 double play to avoid any damage. Juan Uribe followed that with a single to right field but Edgar Renteria flied out to end the threat.
In the bottom of the inning Jonathan Sanchez got the Phillies in order with a pair of groundouts and a strikeout of Jimmy Rollins to end the inning. After a 30 pitch first inning, Sanchez got the Phillies on 12 pitches in the second and will look to continue to settle down.
