Giants-Phillies NLCS Game 6: Chase Utley, Jayson Werth Give Phillies 2-0 Lead

The Philadelphia Phillies have jumped on top of the San Francisco Giants in the bottom of the first, taking a 2-0 lead. Placido Polanco walked with one out and advanced to second on a wild pitch. A Chase Utley double scored Polanco to give the Giants a 1-0 lead. Ryan Howard followed that up with a single to move Utley to third and Utley then scored on a Jayson Werth sacrifice fly to left. Sanchez gave up a subsequent single to Shane Victorino, but ended the inning with a Raul Ibanez pop out to second.

Roy Oswalt had little trouble in his first inning of work. He gave up a lead off single to Andres Torres, but worked around out with two strikeouts and a flyout. The Giants will look to get something going in the second inning as they send Pat Burrell, Cody Ross, and Juan Uribe to the plate.
