The Giants cut the Phillies lead to 3-2 thanks to back to back doubles from Pat Burrell and Cody Ross. Of course, as the baseball gods giveth, so they taketh away. Pablo Sandoval hit a fly ball to right field and Jayson Werth gunned Ross out with a perfect throw to third. Runs are certainly at a premium, but it’s never a good thing getting thrown out for the third out at third base. We’ll see if that comes back to haunt the Giants.
