Giants-Phillies NLCS Game 5: Lincecum, Halladay Go Six Up, Six Down In Second

Tim Lincecum put together another easy 1-2-3 inning on 14 pitches in the second. He struck out Ryan Howard swinging, struck out Jayson Werth looking, and then forced Jimmy Rollins to ground out to first. Aside from Placido Polanco’s fly out to center field, the Phillies have yet to make solid contact against Lincecum.

Roy Halladay got through the second inning 1-2-3 as well but he had to labor again as he continues running the count full against Giants hitters. Halladay has already thrown 43 pitches through two innings as he’s taken three hitters to full counts. Halladay will need to put some efficient innings together or the Phillies will be going to the bullpen sooner rather than later.
