The Giants offense had been struggling before putting a scoring threat together in the bottom of the fourth against Cole Hamels. And then, as if on cue, Cody Ross delivered once again. After hitting three home runs in the first two games, Ross delivered with a two-out RBI single to left field that scored Edgar Renteria and gave the Giants a 1-0 lead.
Aubrey Huff then came up and with only his second hit of the NLCS drove in Pat Burrell to give the Giants a 2-0 lead. Juan Uribe popped out to end the inning, but the damage was done as Cain has officially been staked to a 2-0 lead. For more great in-game discussion, head on over to McCovey Chronicles.
