After four innings of play we’ve got a nice little battle brewing between Tim Lincecum and Roy Halladay. Each has given up a home run and had a troubling inning, but both have settled down to get key outs when needed.
While a dominant pitchers duel would be fun, this game is intriguing because both guys don’t have their A+ stuff. Many MLB pitchers would give their left arm for what Lincecum and Halladay are throwing, but for the two aces, they’ve had to reach back for a little something extra thus far. Given the slowly climbing pitch counts, both pitchers will likely have to rely on their bullpens unless they can get some quick innings.
